Former Smallville star, Sam Witwer will among the celebrity guests attending the 2013 Sci-Fi Expo in Irving, Texas.

Witwer is best remembered for his role of paramedic Davis Bloome/Doomsday during season 8 of the hit tv series “Smallville” as well as his current role as the vampire Aidan Waite on the Syfy Channel series, “Being Human.”

In addition to his live acting roles, Witwer has also provided the voice and likeness of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, Galen Marek (codename Starkiller) in the massively successful “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” video game series. He has also made an appearance in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated series voicing as the Son in the Season 3 “Mortis” trilogy of episodes, and as the iconic Sith Lord, Darth Maul in the Season 4 finale episodes “Brothers” and “Revenge”.

Other celebrities appearing alongside Witwer at the Sci-Fi Expo include Avery Brooks (Captain Sisko – Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Edward Olmos (William Adama – Battlerstar Gallactica), James Callas (Dr. Gaius Baltar – Battlestar Galactica), and Bruce Boxleitner (Title character in “TRON”).

Also scheduled to appear is legendary comic-book artist, George Perez.

The Sci-Fi Expo will take place 11am – 6pm on Saturday, February 9th and 11am – 4pm on Sunday, February 10th at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas.

Sam Witwer is one busy guy. Not only is he the lead role in the very popular Syfy series ‘Being Human’ playing the character Aidan, but, as you will read below, is taking on the role of Darth Maul in the popular Cartoon Network series ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’. His previous acting credits include ‘Battlestar Galactica’, ‘Smallville’ and ‘Dexter’. He also played the role of Galen Marek, or Starkiller, in the also popular, ‘Star Wars: Force Unleashed’ video games.

I was lucky enough to get some time to talk with him in regards to everything mentioned, above. For someone as popular as he is, he was very humble, down to earth and easy to talk to. A lifelong ‘Star Wars’ fan, he’s very excited to be a part of the series, and getting to live out every ‘Star Wars’ fan’s dream. If you’ve played ‘Force: Unleashed’ and you want to see a third one, you’ll see what he thinks about that. The games are still wildly popular.

‘Being Human’ is increasingly growing in popularity, with Season 3 being signed on right after the 4th episode aired. Witwer plays Aidan, a vampire trying to lead a clean life of a vampire by not drinking live blood. We see his struggle each week along with his friends Josh, who is a werewolf and Sally, who is a ghost.

As for performance, unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time for that, and neither do a lot of my band members. We still talk about it, we still want to do it, but yeah it’s been crazy the past few years in terms of finding any time to do anything

Syfy wants more werewolves, ghosts and vampires.

Supernatural drama Being Human has been renewed for a third season, the cable network announced Wednesday.

Coming less than three weeks after its sophomore season bow posted a 27 percent gain in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, the Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington series has been picked up for 13 additional episodes.

The Jan. 16 Season 2 premiere also posted gains of 15 percent in total viewers and 35 percent in the adults 25-54 demographic, with the episode delivering 2.4 million total viewers and ranking as the second-most-watched episode of any season for the network and up 3 percent compared with the series premiere.

“With the success of Season 2, Being Human has become a premier destination forSyfyviewers,” Syfy president of original content Mark Stern said in a statement announcing the news. “[Executive producers] Jeremy Carver and Anna Fricke have taken this series to new heights this year and we’re excited to see where the third season will go.”

Witwer, Rath and Huntington star as a vampire, ghost and werewolf, respectively, who navigate life together in a Boston brownstone as they strive to live normal lives.

There’s some great news that’s been released for the North American version of Being Human. In Syfy’s digital press tour, the network announced that season 2 would begin on January 16, at 9PM.
